Wonderful old English Horse Brass made in 1952 to celebrate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II....within the laurel is the portrait of Queen Elizabeth with her name and year underneath.  This brass measures 4 1/4" tall.

 

If you're not familiar with English Horse brasses, they originated during the 17th century to decorate and identify draft horses as well as being a charm.  Horse brasses are a popular collectible today.  In England they decorate the beams of pubs and hang by the fireplaces in homes.
